Our Residents
Residents of Helm Recovery start on a 30 day restriction policy where they are expected to find a sponsor and a home group to exit the restriction period at the end of 30 days. Any assistance needed in obtaining a sponsor can be accommodated. Working the 12 steps as outlined in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is a requirement of the houses. We take the safety of our residents very seriously, therefore mandatory and random drug tests or breathalyzers are given under any suspicion of use. Residents must attend a weekly house meeting where we go over recovery goals and weekly check-ins. Residents of Helm Recovery will be expected to attend 4 AA/NA/CA meetings per week within their first 30 days and 3 thereafter. Each resident has a weekly chore which will be listed for them in the house to keep the living space tidy. Residents are expected to keep their rooms clean and beds made. Residents are also expected to be employed, or have a working start date within their first two weeks of arrival at Helm Recovery. We will help to find work, sponsors, meetings, and LADC’s.
